Business Controller, Supply Chain

Job purpose

As our new Business Controller, Supply Chain, you will be responsible for controlling all supply chain related activities within Europe. You will be accountable for forecasting, budgeting and reporting to enhance business decision-making and to identify, quantify and control financial risk. You'll leading relevant financial business intelligence and ad-hoc analysis as required, and providing financial challenge and assessment to ensure optimum operations efficiency and return on capital investment for McCain. You'll also work with supply chain activities are related to logistics (storage, transport and inventory), supply planning, customer service and demand planning. You will report to the Controller, Operations CE

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the team in managing, optimizing and controlling the storage and transport costs (inbound & outbound) 
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant inventory and cost accounting in a fast moving environment 
  • Key role in ideation, implementation and tracking of Sustainable Cost Advantage (SCA) projects together with the Supply Chain team 
  • Actively involved in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to give support in improving the overall process and its forecast accuracy 
  • Leading the inventory and DOH (days on hand) follow up. Actively contributing to the Working Capital Committee by proposing improvement initiatives 
  • Involvement in Month, Quarter and Yearly closing procedures in the first week of the month 
  • Coordination of the forecast and budget process for the supply chain business 
  • Providing (Senior) Management with a clear understanding of the supply chain performance 
  •  Involvement in various ad-hoc tasks, including cross-functional and functional projects

Qualifications 

  • Required/desirable experience: 2-3 years 
  • Bachelor or Master degree in finance 
  • Broad solid fundamental knowledge of both accounting and business operations 
  • Experience with enterprise-wide financial planning software in (preferably) SAP Finance modules 
  • Strong and effective communication skills to all levels in the organization 
  • Excellent English and Dutch language skills are required 
  • Strong team player and highly motivated 
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Expert in Excel skills, Power BI is nice to have

  • The salary scale for this position ranges from €3,509 to €5,238, depending on experience and qualifications 
  • 8% vacation pay and an 8.33% year-end bonus 
  • A one-year McCain contract, with the intention of extension to indefinite time 
  • 25 holidays and 11 additional days (on fulltime basis); 
  • Travel allowance of €0.19 per kilometer (with a maximum of 50 kilometers one-way)
